We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and passionate Kitchen Porter to join our catering team.

Experience & Background

No experience is necessary as full training is given
An NVQ Level 1 in Catering or a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is helpful but not essential.

High personal hygiene standards and a smart and tidy appearance is imperative to this role.

Duties
You will be responsible for:

maintaining high levels of service and assist with the smooth running of the school kitchens.
providing support to the Catering Department through the preparation and servicing of the dining room.
assisting with basic food preparation.
ensuring all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are kept clean and in good working order and reporting any faults.
maintaining the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
washing up.

This post is Regulated Activity.

Hours of Work
This post works 35 hours a week during term time for 33 weeks a year. Working Monday to Friday, the hours of work will be 07:00 until 14:30 (inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid lunch break).

The postholder will be required to work an additional 140 hours per annum that will generally be worked in non-term time.

There may be the opportunity for additional weekend working and this will be discussed further at the interview stage.

Salary
£18,606 per annum based on the above hours and weeks of work, which is pro-rata of the full time equivalent salary of £24,785 per annum.
