Full job description

Job Overview

Ridgway Cars is seeking a motivated, confident and customer-focused individual to join our sales team on a permanent, part-time basis.

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable in a sales environment and can provide a professional and welcoming experience for every customer. The successful candidate will work one weekday each week, together with both Saturday and Sunday.

Previous automotive sales experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

Welcoming customers and establishing their vehicle requirements.
Presenting suitable vehicles, finance products, warranties and associated services.
Conducting vehicle demonstrations and accompanying customers on test drives.
Building professional customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Responding promptly to telephone, email and online sales enquiries.
Working proactively to achieve individual and team sales targets.
Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the vehicles available for sale.
Assisting with vehicle presentation, merchandising and general forecourt standards.
Accurately completing sales documentation and updating internal systems.
Supporting customers throughout the sales process, from initial enquiry to vehicle handover.
Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.

Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
A confident, friendly and professional manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine interest in sales and customer service.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
A self-motivated, reliable and results-focused approach.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confidence when using computers, customer management systems and sales software.
The ability to work one weekday, Saturday and Sunday each week.
A full UK driving licence, which is essential for the role.

Pay and Commission

The role will be paid at the applicable National Minimum or National Living Wage rate, depending on the successful candidate’s age.

In addition to the hourly rate, the successful candidate will be eligible to earn tiered sales commission. The commission structure is designed to reward performance, with higher commission opportunities available as agreed sales thresholds are achieved.
