Full job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Stockperson to assist the unit manager on our outdoor pig breeding unit . Stockperson experience is essential.

Job Responsibilities of Pig Stockperson:-

You will be actively involved in overseeing all areas of the pig breading cycle
Overseeing and maintaining high welfare standards. On a day to day basis this includes feeding, moving and handling the pigs
General animal husbandry
Working with machinery including tractors and telehandlers (training provided)
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment

What you will need:

Previous stockperson experience.
To always prioritise and adhere to animal welfare
To be self-motivated, flexible and a great team player abilities
To be reliable and have excellent time-keeping
Full driving license / Own transport to reach rural farm location

Weekly hours are variable with some early starts (on these occasions you will finish earlier).

Pay and Benefits:

£29,741.40 - £35,000.00 depending on experience
The shift pattern is Monday to Friday with alternate weekend work, total 45 hours per week.
Pension 3% employer contributions, 5% employee contributions
We recognise that to do a good job, you need good equipment and we invest in quality machinery and tools to help with this.
We provide both on and off farm training, increasing your knowledge and experience in all areas of pig farming
