Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various warehouse operations, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and organisation.

Duties

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move materials across the facility
Manage stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of products
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading lorries
Utilise warehouse management systems (e.g., AS400) to track inventory movements and update records
Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse
Conduct routine inspections of mechanical equipment and report any issues promptly
Support in construction-related tasks as required, including assembly or modification of storage units
Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move goods within the warehouse environment
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations

Experience

Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment and systems
Familiarity with forklift operation is highly desirable; valid certification is advantageous
Mechanical aptitude or experience with construction or materials handling is a plus
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and inventory control
