Full job description

The Role

Our Grill Chefs are the heartbeat of Voodoo Chicken-bringing the heat, flavour and magic to our busy street food stalls.

You’ll prepare and cook our signature New Orleans-style chicken, keep the stall clean, organised and ready for service, and deliver brilliant hospitality to every customer. You’ll also act as Assistant Supervisor, stepping up to lead the shift whenever the Supervisor is away. This includes organising the team, maintaining food quality and safety standards, managing stock and ensuring service runs smoothly.

No two days are the same, and the energy is always high.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook our food consistently to Voodoo Chicken’s recipes and standards
Set up, operate and close down the grill and street food stall safely and efficiently
Deliver fast, friendly and memorable customer service
Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards
Monitor stock levels, minimise waste and communicate any shortages
Support and motivate colleagues during busy services
Act as Assistant Supervisor and confidently run the shift when the Supervisor is away
Allocate tasks, manage breaks and keep the team focused throughout the day
Take responsibility for service standards, cash handling and the smooth operation of the stall
Help the team achieve its sales and customer-service targets

What We’re Looking For

Experience working on a grill or in a fast-paced hospitality environment is preferred, although full training will be provided
Some experience leading a shift or supporting a supervisor would be an advantage
Reliable, punctual and comfortable taking responsibility
Calm and decisive during busy, high-pressure services
Confident organising and supporting a small team
Friendly and comfortable speaking with customers
Quick-thinking, organised and able to multitask
Passionate about serving excellent food
Eager to learn, improve and grow with the business
Comfortable working in a fast, fun and energetic street food environment
