Location: Hilsea, Portsmouth, PO3 5JT
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, 12:30am to 9:00am
Salary: £14.50 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse Assistant to join our night shift operation in Hilsea. This is a permanent, full-time lone-worker role supporting the safe and accurate handling of freight for onward movement to the Channel Islands.

You will be responsible for accepting incoming deliveries, checking freight against pre-alerted volumes, recording information accurately, labelling and segregating goods, and ensuring a clear handover to the day shift team.

Key Responsibilities

Accept incoming night-shift deliveries and check freight against expected volumes.
Segregate, label and prepare freight for onward shipment to the Channel Islands.
Enter delivery and freight details accurately into the warehouse management system.
Maintain clear manual records and complete basic administrative tasks where required.
Work safely and independently as the lone worker during the night shift.
Liaise with delivery agents to hand back returned goods accurately and on time.
Provide a clear handover to the day shift team, including any outstanding workload.

About You

Previous warehouse, logistics or freight-handling experience is desirable.
Reliable, trustworthy and confident working independently overnight.
Strong attention to detail when checking volumes, entering data and labelling goods.
Comfortable using computers; Microsoft Office experience is desirable.
Able to follow warehouse processes and keep accurate records.
Good communication skills and a practical, organised approach to work.

What We Offer

£14.50 per hour.
Permanent, full-time position.
Regular night-shift hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 12:30am to 9:00am.
40 hours per week.
On-site role based in Hilsea, PO3 5JT.
Opportunity to build experience in freight handling, warehouse systems and logistics.
