At the Café Theatre within Redfields Garden Centre, we're proud to serve freshly prepared food in a vibrant, welcoming environment. We're looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering consistently outstanding food and leading by example.

The Role

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring every dish leaving the pass meets our high standards.

You'll lead by example, motivate the team and help create a positive, professional kitchen culture where everyone thrives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen.
Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service.
Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality dishes to company standards.
Maintain exceptional food presentation and consistency.
Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.
Ensure food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures are followed at all times.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
Minimise waste and maximise kitchen efficiency.
Train, mentor and support junior team members.
Help manage kitchen cleaning schedules and maintain impeccable standards.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.

What We're Looking For

Currently working as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef.
Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Calm under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
Positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
Confident communicator and natural team player.
Desire to learn, develop and progress.
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum, Level 3 desirable).
Understanding of HACCP and food safety legislation.
Flexible approach during busy periods.
