Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiter to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional guest service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the restaurant industry, working in a dynamic environment that values teamwork and customer satisfaction. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to help you succeed in this role.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance guest experience
Ensure all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, are adhered to at all times
Clear tables promptly and assist with setting up for subsequent guests
Handle cash or electronic payments accurately and issue receipts as required
Maintain a clean, organised work station and assist with general restaurant upkeep as needed
Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during busy periods

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the industry
Knowledge of food safety procedures and basic food preparation techniques is beneficial
Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience can be an asset
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes and upselling opportunities
Good organisational skills to ensure smooth service flow and maintain cleanliness standards
