Full job description

PURPOSE of the ROLE:

The CCTV Control Room Operative will work as part of the control room team, undertaking the day-to-day monitoring and delivery of security services within the control room, supporting the overall security operation at the centre.

The Control Room operative will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

The Control room is part of the public face of the security team and should always act with professionalism, a can-do attitude is essential in this highly influential role.

This Role Attracts

Full time permanent role on a fixed shift pattern
40 hour per week contract (paid for breaks)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To be part of a Control Room team working a 24 / 7 / 365 shift pattern.
To ensure exemplary standards in personal hygiene, strictly adhering to the site uniform requirements.
Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties to the highest standards.
Provide assistance to third party contractors / visitors whilst ensuring all site procedures / policies are adhered too.
Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures.
Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms and the site occurrence book.
Maintain vigilance and highlight / manage unauthorised access by excluded / undesirable individuals.
Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals logging and reporting incidents in line with site / company polices.
Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.
Liaising with your line manager proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported at all times.
Report any event that may be detrimental to the fulfilment of the provision of security on site to the Security Team Leader / Security Duty Manager / Security Manager.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIANCE:

SKILLS:

Good verbal and written English communication skills, Level 3.
Able to articulate clearly and credibly with the Management Team, Centre staff and all visitors.
The ability to work unsupervised, to be self-motivated and to take responsibility.
Aptitude to remain calm under pressure.
Smart and Clean appearance.
Flexible / can do attitude.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

CCTV SIA Licence
Experience of working in a customer focussed environment.
Experience working within a Security Control Room.

Desirable:

NPSA SCR 5-day course

Working Hours - 40 hrs per week covering a 24/7 period

Salary - £29,119.00 per annum
