Temp & Perm Warehouse Operative opportunities available / on-site (Banbury) / to start ASAP
role overview
We’re setting up a brand-new CG warehouse. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be part of the team responsible for the day-to-day movement of stock through the warehouse. Working under the guidance of the Warehouse Despatch Manager and Senior Operative, you will help ensure products are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and safely. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys active work, values teamwork, and takes pride in accuracy and quality. We’re looking for a mixture of some interim help to join our team, on a zero hour basis, to help see us through our busy set-up/put-away periods and permanent opportunities are also available.
key responsibilities
You will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
Warehouse duties
- Carry out core warehouse activities including goods in, put away, picking, packing, despatch, returns and stock checks
- Handle products carefully to maintain quality and presentation
- Follow instructions and daily priorities set by supervisors and senior operatives
Accuracy and quality
- Pick and pack orders accurately in line with customer and system requirements
- Use scanners, labels and paperwork correctly
- Flag errors, damaged stock or discrepancies promptly
Health and Safety
- Work in line with health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Use equipment correctly and report any faults or hazards
- Follow manual handling guidance and maintain a tidy, safe working area
Teamworking and flexibility
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily targets and deadlines
- Be flexible and willing to support different areas of the warehouse during busy periods
- During peak trading periods, support ecommerce packing activities where required, following appropriate training and guidance to ensure quality and presentation standards are met
- Take feedback positively and apply learning on the job
Systems and ways of working
- Use WMS and warehouse systems accurately after training
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
- Support continuous improvement by raising ideas or issues with supervisors
Peak trading
- The business experiences peak trading periods at certain times of the year. This role requires flexibility during these periods, which may include changes to workload, priorities or working patterns in line with business needs.
key skills & experience
- Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not essential as full training will be provided· Good attention to detail and a willingness to work accurately
- Reliable and punctual, with a positive approach to work
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and safely lifting or moving heavy objects as part of the role
- Basic IT confidence for scanning and system use is essential

salary & hours
Real Living Wage hourly rate (other benefits vary depending on contract type)
Temp Work offered may vary from week to week depending on business need but could be up to 37.5 hrs/week for some weeks. This will be confirmed with your manager upon joining.
Full-Time working hours are 8.00am–4.00pm, with flexibility to support early deliveries or late despatch during peak periods, bank holidays, weekend moves or stock transfers.
