Deputy Care Manager – Domiciliary & Live-in Care

Location: Office based in Bury St Edmunds (hybrid working available)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Care Manager to support the delivery of high-quality domiciliary and live-in care services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress into a leadership role within a growing care organisation.

Role Overview

As Deputy Care Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care is delivered at all times.

You will play a key role in staff supervision, compliance, and maintaining high standards across both domiciliary and live-in care packages.

Key Responsibilities

Support the management of care staff, including induction, supervision, competency checks, and spot checks
Assist with care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with CQC standards and company policies
Participate in on-call duties as required, including handling emergency calls
Assist with care calls when needed
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff
Provide training and guidance to care staff
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Liaise with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Attend meetings as required
Ensure high-quality, person-centred care is consistently delivered
Report directly to the Registered Manager

Requirements

Previous experience in a senior care or supervisory role
Experience in domiciliary and/or live-in care
Strong knowledge of care standards and regulations
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work flexibly and support the on-call rota
