Shift Leader

The Duke of Cambridge is an award-winning countryside gastro pub, renowned for exceptional food, outstanding service and creating memorable experiences for every guest.

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Shift Leader to help lead our front of house team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys leading by example, and takes pride in delivering first-class customer service.

Working closely with the management team, you'll play a key role in ensuring every shift runs smoothly while maintaining the high standards that The Duke of Cambridge is known for.

About the Role

As a Shift Leader, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of service, supporting the management team and motivating the front of house team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and motivating the front of house team throughout each shift.
Delivering warm, friendly and professional customer service at all times.
Ensuring every guest receives an outstanding dining experience from arrival to departure.
Supporting managers with the smooth running of daily operations.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue.
Supervising food and drink service to ensure speed, quality and consistency.
Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
Opening and closing the venue in line with company procedures.
Assisting with staff training and supporting the development of new team members.
Ensuring licensing, food safety and health & safety procedures are always followed.
Leading by example, creating a positive and professional working environment.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Shift Leader, Supervisor or Team Leader within a busy hospitality environment.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
A professional, positive and proactive attitude.
The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive during busy service periods.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and high personal standards.
Confidence working independently and using initiative.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Own transport is preferred due to our countryside location.
