Chef/Kitchen Cook / Kitchen Team Member

Tiger Fusion | Haverhill, Suffolk

Good in a kitchen? Fast, organised and reliable? We’d like to hear from you.

Tiger Fusion is looking for someone to join our kitchen team at our Asian-inspired social dining and cocktail bar in the heart of Haverhill.

We’re not looking for a traditional, “chefy” Chef or someone focused on fine dining techniques and overly complicated plating.

What we need is someone who understands how a busy commercial kitchen works: good preparation, consistency, speed, cleanliness and teamwork.

For us, attitude, organisation and solid kitchen experience matter more than fancy qualifications.

What you'll be doing

You’ll work as part of a small kitchen team preparing and cooking dishes from our Tiger Fusion menu, including Asian-inspired small plates, larger dishes, and buffets for our event space.

You'll be responsible for:

Preparing ingredients ready for service
Cooking dishes consistently to our recipes and standards
Working efficiently during busy periods
Keeping your section clean, organised and stocked
Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
Completing opening, closing and cleaning duties
Monitoring stock, dates and food rotation
Working closely with the wider team to keep service running smoothly

Who we're looking for

You don't need to be a classically trained Chef.

You might currently work as a pub cook, kitchen assistant, line cook, commis chef or within another busy food-led venue.

What matters is that you:

Have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
Understand basic food preparation and cooking
Have a good understanding of food hygiene and EHO requirements
Understand allergens, cross-contamination and safe food handling
Can follow recipes and portion specifications accurately
Work quickly without allowing standards to slip
Keep a clean and organised workstation
Are reliable and comfortable working evenings and weekends
Work well as part of a team

We want someone practical, dependable and organised.

Someone who comes in, gets prepared, keeps on top of their section and understands that a successful kitchen is built around consistency, cleanliness, speed and communication.

You don’t need to come with an ego or an impressive job title.

You just need to know your way around a kitchen, care about the food you send out and be willing to work hard as part of the team.

About Tiger Fusion

Tiger Fusion is an Asian-inspired social dining and cocktail bar inside The Suffolk Hotel in Haverhill.

Our menu centres around bold flavours, sushi, small plates and sharing dishes, served in a relaxed environment designed for people to eat, drink and enjoy an evening together.

We're continuing to develop the business and are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the kitchen as we grow.

Shifts: Including evenings and weekends
