We are seeking a driven, curious, and customer-focused IT & Cyber Support Trainee to join our Malvern team. In this entry-level role, you will serve as a vital point of support for our daily business operations and external clients, delivering first-class 1st line IT support, setting up client accounts, and assisting businesses in achieving compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as Cyber Essentials.
Full comprehensive training will be provided. Following a successful probation period, you will have the opportunity to map out a tailored cybersecurity career pathway, including the opportunity to embark on a funded Degree Apprenticeship and gain specialist industry qualifications, including Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor and Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM).

- Customer Satisfaction & First-Contact Support: Friendly, professional 1st line support delivery that helps maintain our 5.0* Trustpilot rating through clear communication and rapid fault resolution.
- Operational Progress & Autonomy: Rapid onboarding onto internal systems, progressing to independent, intuitive task management and priority handling by Month 6.
- Compliance & Technical Delivery: Accurate setup of client accounts and precise support for consultants delivering Cyber Essentials and other security frameworks.
- Process Improvement & Initiative: Active contribution to documenting IT procedures, researching emerging technologies (including AI and new threats), and improving internal workflow efficiencies.
- Professional Development: Successful progression through probationary benchmarks and enrollment onto a formal IT/Cyber Security Apprenticeship pathway.
Key Responsibilities
1. 1st Line IT & Client Cyber Support
- 1st Line Troubleshooting: Perform 1st line IT support tasks, including workstation setup, hardware/software repairs, network troubleshooting, and resolving daily end-user technical queries.
- Client Security Compliance: Provide direct, friendly support to clients to ensure their devices and systems comply with Cyber Essentials and other cybersecurity frameworks.
- Account Administration: Set up and maintain client accounts across various platforms, ensuring smooth onboarding and access control.
- Consultancy Support: Assist Assure Technical’s consultants in delivering cyber certifications, technical audits, and client projects.
2. Internal Operations, Security & Research
- Security Monitoring: Monitor and report internal IT security issues, system performance, and network health to your line manager.
- Documentation & Optimisation: Assist with documenting IT processes and standard operating procedures for team-wide use while optimising business systems.
- Technology & Threat Research: Actively research new technologies, industry advances, emerging cyber threats, and AI tools to help the business stay ahead.
- General Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to other business functions as required, ensuring compliance with current UK IT legislation.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Required Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
- Education: 5+ GCSEs at Grade 5/C or above (including Maths & English) plus an A-Level, AS-Level, or BTEC in IT, Computing, or a related technical discipline.
- Passion for Cyber: A demonstrable, active interest in IT, networking, and cyber security.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Natural curiosity, a knack for pragmatic troubleshooting, and the drive to dig deep until a solution is found.
- Communication & Personability: Clear written and verbal communication skills; confident and patient when dealing with end-users over the phone, online, or face-to-face.
- Work Ethic & Integrity: High attention to detail, strong self-motivation, adaptability under pressure, and an alignment with our core values (We Deliver Excellence, We Do the Right Thing, We Work as One).
- Technical Skills: Technically adept and a confident user of Microsoft/Google Workspace.
