Full job description

Lings Suffolk Triumph is looking for a motivated, organised and customer-focused Aftersales Advisor to join our dealership in Ipswich.

As an Aftersales Advisor, you'll be a key link between our customers, workshop and parts department, managing customers throughout their complete service and repair journey – from the initial booking through to workshop updates, invoicing and motorcycle handover.

This is a varied role combining customer service, workshop coordination, parts and warranty administration, with a strong focus on delivering an excellent customer experience while helping maximise the performance of our Aftersales department.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Workshop

Act as the main point of contact for service and repair customers
Create, manage and proactively generate workshop bookings
Understand customer requirements and accurately record work required
Clearly explain recommended work and associated costs
Keep customers updated throughout their motorcycle's time with us
Present Motorcycle Health Check findings and gain authorisation for additional work
Organise technician diaries to maximise workshop efficiency
Allocate and monitor work based on technician availability and skill
Manage courtesy motorcycle bookings where required
Proactively contact customers using manufacturer and dealership data to generate future service bookings

Parts & Warranty

Support the day-to-day operation of the Parts department
Identify, price, allocate and order parts for service and repair work
Receive and process parts and tyre deliveries
Ensure required parts are available ahead of workshop bookings
Manage manufacturer warranty jobs and submit claims accurately and on time
Liaise with customers, technicians and the manufacturer regarding warranty work

Administration

Accurately invoice retail, warranty and internal work
Ensure job cards, health checks and supporting documentation are completed correctly
Maintain accurate customer and motorcycle records within our dealer management system

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Strong customer service and communication skills
Excellent organisation and time management
Confidence communicating face-to-face, over the phone and by email
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail
A proactive and commercially aware approach
Confidence using computer-based systems

Highly Desirable:

A genuine interest in and knowledge of motorcycles
A full motorcycle licence and riding experience
Previous motorcycle or automotive Service/Aftersales experience
An understanding of motorcycle components, servicing and maintenance
Parts ordering experience
Manufacturer warranty experience

Motorcycle Knowledge Is a Real Advantage

Our customers are often knowledgeable and passionate motorcyclists, and we want them to have confidence in the person looking after their motorcycle.

Being able to understand motorcycle terminology, recognise components, discuss servicing and maintenance requirements and understand what additional parts or work may be needed can make a significant difference to the customer experience.

For that reason, motorcycle knowledge, riding experience and a motorcycle licence would be a significant advantage.

Previous motorcycle dealership experience, however, is not essential.

You may already be an experienced automotive Service Advisor who has a passion for motorcycles, or you could be a knowledgeable motorcyclist with excellent customer service and organisational skills looking to develop a career within the motorcycle industry.
