About the Role

Queen's Park Health Centre is looking for 2 part-time receptionists to join our team. The main base will be The Village Medical Centre, Great Denham, however, applicants must be willing and flexible to work across all three practice sites as required.

Duties will include:

Signposting patients and consulting with members of the Practice team
Making patient appointments or answering patient queries face-to-face
Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
Process appointment requests for future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
Deal with visit requests
Take telephone calls from patients about appointments and queries
Accept test samples from patients and deal with accordingly
Advise patients of relevant charges for private work (Non-General Medical Services), accept payment and issue receipts for same

About the Candidate

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes:

Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
