Full job description

JD Smith & Sons are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator who can also run jobs and supervise others.

This is a hands-on role. You will still be working on the tools.

We are a family-run decorating company, established in 1908.

We have steady work, mostly in private homes, and we are looking for good tradespeople who want a long-term job.

WHAT WE NEED

Recognised painting and decorating trade qualification or completed apprenticeship

At least 5 years’ experience after apprenticeship

Strong painting and decorating skills

Able to run a job and keep it moving

Able to organise and work with other decorators

Able to maintain a high standard of work

Confident dealing with customers

Reliable and punctual

Full UK driving licence

Willing to work overtime when required

No formal supervisor qualification is required. We are looking for proven ability to lead a job and work well with people.

WHAT WE OFFER

Fair company pay scale based on qualifications, experience and responsibility

Extra pay for supervisor duties, machine operation and long service

Annual pay review

Overtime when available

Much of our work is indoors in customers’ homes
