Receptionist / Office Administrator / Telephone Operator

Hudson MOT & Garage – Leeds LS9
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time considered
Work Location: In person initially, with possible hybrid / work-from-home flexibility after training
Experience: Preferred but not essential
Salary: To be discussed depending on experience

About Us

Hudson MOT & Garage is a busy and growing automotive business based in Leeds. We provide MOT testing, vehicle repairs, tyres, hybrid battery services, taxi/private hire vehicle support, and general garage services.

We are now looking for a reliable, organised and confident person to join our team as a Receptionist / Office Administrator / Telephone Operator. This person will be the first point of contact for our customers and will help us organise bookings, calls, paperwork and daily garage operations.

The Role

This is an important front-office role. You will be the first person many customers speak to when they call or visit the garage, so a polite, professional and helpful manner is essential.

The role will involve answering customer calls, booking vehicles in, taking messages, organising paperwork, helping with customer updates, and supporting the garage team with daily admin tasks.

After training, some hybrid or work-from-home tasks may be possible, such as answering calls, following up with customers, managing bookings, sending reminders and handling basic admin.

Main Duties

Answering incoming telephone calls professionally
Welcoming customers and dealing with enquiries
Booking MOTs, repairs, tyre jobs and garage appointments
Taking clear messages and passing them to the correct person
Updating customers about vehicle repairs and bookings
Managing diaries, schedules and job cards
Helping organise paperwork, invoices, receipts and customer records
Sending reminders and follow-up messages to customers
Supporting the garage team with general office/admin duties
Keeping the reception and office area organised
Helping improve communication between customers, mechanics and management

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Polite, professional and confident on the phone
Well organised and reliable
Able to speak to customers in a friendly and respectful manner
Comfortable using a computer, mobile phone, WhatsApp and basic office systems
Able to write clear notes and messages
Willing to learn about garage services, MOT bookings and customer handling
Able to work independently after training
Honest, punctual and responsible

Experience

Previous experience in reception, customer service, admin, call handling, office work, garage reception or telephone operator work is preferred but not essential.

Training can be provided for the right person.
