Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and pizza, looking to develop their skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team to ensure smooth operations. Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and stretching pizza.
Support the cooking team in meal assembly and presentation
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
Help with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients
Support serving staff during busy periods by providing timely assistance with meal delivery
Follow all health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for all staff members

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
Experience in food preparation, cooking, or meal assembly will be considered an asset
Familiarity with serving procedures in a hospitality setting is advantageous
A genuine interest in culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role

Pay: £12.75 per hour
