JOB SUMMARY

The Role: Production Operator – Skilled

Lesters, the large packaging specialists, manufacture corrugated cardboard into boxes and cartons, die-cutting, slotting, glueing and stitching using automated inline processes. We are looking for a Production Operative to join our night crew to facilitate further growth.

Set machinery, feed and run materials and stack pallets
Monitor jobs to maintain high-quality standards
Work efficiently to achieve budgeted targets of production uptime
Operate the SFDU
Resolve or report basic running issues quickly and proactively.
Communicate any issues or improvements to your Team Leader so we can continuously improve efficiency and quality.
Safely undertake manual handling of materials and equipment, storing stereos and tools in the correct location
Proactively and appropriately and dispose of waste materials to maintain excellent levels of housekeeping
Complete basic preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules i.e. cleaning, greasing
Any other duties that are within your capabilities.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have sufficient experience of working within a production environment operating and setting. Previous experience of working within the cardboard industry is desirable.

They will also:

Be a team player
Be willing and motivated to continuously strive to improve.
Have a good work ethic
Be a punctual and reliable individual, who is flexible, willing to learn and embrace new skills.

What is on offer?

Starting salary range (hourly pay plus nightshift allowance) ranges from £35,000 to £42,000 per year, dependent on experience plus quarterly bonus.
Working hours will be Sunday to Thursday 22:00 to 07:00
Shift allowance, quarterly and annual bonus and overtime rates available
Workplace pension scheme.
