We're Hiring: Head of Social / Social Media ManagerMersey Raw · Bootle, Merseyside · Full-time, in-houseThe pet industry is boring. We're here to change that.

Scroll through pet food online and it's the same beige nonsense on repeat. Stock photos. Safe captions. Nobody with the guts to actually go for it. The whole industry is sat there half-asleep, and nobody has grabbed it by the reins.

We're about to.

Mersey Raw grew from humble roots in Bootle into one of the UK's best-known raw dog food brands. We feed over 5,000 dogs every single day, out of a brand-new 29,000 sq ft facility, with 3,000+ five-star reviews from customers who've watched their dogs transform on real, natural food. What they were born to eat. That's not marketing — that's the product.

Now we want the whole country to know our name. And we need one person to make that happen.

The role

This is, hands down, one of the most exciting jobs going in this business — and we mean that. You'll spearhead the growth of the entire company through social media. You are the voice, the face, and the engine of Mersey Raw online.

You'll live in the factory and you'll be at every event. You'll be everywhere — camera in hand, talking to our audience, catching the moments nobody else would think to film, and turning them into content that stops thumbs dead. TikTok, Facebook, Instagram — and anywhere else the dogs and the people are.

When something takes off, we amplify it. You'll spot the winners and flag them to be pushed through our paid platform, so the best content doesn't just perform — it propels us, locally and far and wide.

Get this right, and you won't just be running our socials. You'll be putting a boring industry on notice and making Mersey Raw impossible to ignore.

What you'll be doing

Being the face. Going live, presenting to camera, showing up with energy every single day. If the idea of going live makes you nervous, this isn't your role. If it makes you excited — keep reading.
Making the content. Shooting and editing punchy short-form video yourself. From the factory floor to events to the dogs themselves — you find the story and you tell it.
Owning every channel. TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and beyond. Posting consistently, building a genuine content machine, and keeping us active everywhere.
Talking to our people. Replying, DMs, comments, community — constantly. Our audience should feel like they know you, because they will.
Spotting the winners. Knowing what's working, flagging the content worth putting real money behind, and helping us turn viral moments into customers.
Driving real results. Followers, fame, and sales that come from social. Growth you can point at.

Who you are

An outgoing, larger-than-life personality. You light up on camera. You're not shy, you're not stiff — you're the person people remember.
A blend of skill and hunger. You've got real ability behind you, but it's your energy, creativity and drive that set you apart. We care more about who you are than the exact lines on your CV.
A genuine creator. You can shoot and edit content that looks and feels great — fast.
Always switched on to trends, culture and what makes people stop, laugh, share and buy.
Local at heart, national in ambition. You want to make Bootle proud and make Mersey Raw a name across the whole country.
A dog person (or fast becoming one).

A full driving licence and your own transport is a big plus for getting to events and shoots — but for the right person, it's not a dealbreaker.

Must-haves

Confident on camera and comfortable going live
Can shoot and edit your own short-form video
A natural at community engagement — you love talking to people online

Nice to have

Experience running or supporting paid social campaigns
Photography skills
A portfolio that already shows off your on-camera and editing chops
