BARISTA/BAR TENDER (Front of House)

Cinema/ Front of House team – Olympic Cinema

Reporting to: Floor Manager, Assistant Manager, General Manager

Contract: This is a zero-hour employment contract. Your General Manager will discuss this

with youduring recruitment, such as the hours and days you’d be available to work.

Hourly rate: £14.75 (£12.71+£2.04 tronc guaranteed)

Hours per week: Hours vary according to business requirements & your availability

THE ROLE

We are looking for dedicated and personable floor staﬀ to serve our customers to the

highest standard and provide a personal and memorable experience to our guests.

Duties & responsibilities

The following are just some of what you can expect to be doing. We’ll provide the training

you needYou’ll be:

__ Following our 10 Steps of Service to ensure a consistently memorable experience

__ Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s

standard drink recipes

__ Learning the names and personally recognize our regulars.

__ Recording drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system

__ Washing and sterilising glassware

__ Preparing garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons

__ Maintaining bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support

eﬃcient drink preparation and promotion of beverages

__ Clearing and resetting tables in bar area

__ Presenting drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding

beverages

__ Maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves

and storage areas.

__ Receiving and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.

__ Reporting all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager

__ Assisting in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

__ Being available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and eﬃcient operation of the

restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor

__ Meeting and greeting our guests, making them feel welcome and comfortable

__ Actively training floor staﬀ and barbacks by sharing your exceptional cocktail knowledge

__ Working as a team player. Team players are the starts of our show!

__ Ensuring the bar, and bar area are kept looking pristine

__ Helping other areas of the business as requested

What we are looking for

If you meet some but not all the criteria below, we’d still love to hear from you. We

understand the value of transferable skills.

Our preferences for this role (when reviewing candidates) are that you have some

experience in or exposure to, or an interest in providing a show-stopping level of guest

service in a high-end hospitality or cinema environment. This will include being open to

training, feedback, guidance and doing your best!

This may include:

__ Having working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes

__ The ability to multitask whilst maintaining an eye for detail, commitment and drive

__ A passion for hosting and hospitality

__ Confident and clear communication skills__ Being punctual, reliable and trustworthy

__ Having a genuine passion for food and beverage

A cinema that was once a recording studio, then a cinema again, and is soon to be a

recording studio once more. Also home to a Members’ Club and Bar & Bistro.

Our flagship has a rich and storied history, with many iterations over the years, but always

remaining a place to enjoy entertainment. As custodians of this iconic building, we continue

to honour its legacy while shaping its future as a hub of entertainment.

The Olympic in Barnes has a three-screen cinema, a members’ club, further members-only

spaces, a Bar & Bistro, an outdoor terrace, and, re-opening in 2025, the music recording

studio.
