Ballet Pointe Shoes - Trainee Socker

Location: Earl Shilton, Leicestershire LE9
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week
Pay: National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage (starting rate)

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic individual to join our production team as a Pointe Shoe Socker. This is a hands-on, fast paced role where you’ll be fully trained in cleaning and socking Ballet Pointe Shoes to a high quality.
No previous experience is required — just a good work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Trim loose threads around the binding and insoles of pointe shoes.
Scrape away excess paste from shoes and insoles.
Cover gaps with the correct sock linings.
Glue sock liners to complete the finished pointe shoe.
Use small hand tools such as embroidery scissors, knives, and hammers.
Follow instructions carefully and learn each stage of the socking process.
Work with glue, brushes and tack knives.
Report any visible faults to Checkers or Supervisors.
Maintain a clean and organised workstation.
Meet daily production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

(includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks)

Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM

(includes one 10-minute break)

Total: 39 hours per week (permanent)
