Job Overview

Are you looking for a fulfilling career? Join our amazing team as a Care Assistant and make a genuine difference to the lives of our residents. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a family-owned care home, where your positive attitude and caring nature will help to ensure our residents have the highest possible quality of life.

Responsibilities

To deliver care to residents as directed by individual care plans, reporting any changes or concerns to the senior member of staff leading the shift.
Assist the residents in personal care including washing, bathing, dressing and toilet needs.
Make beds and use pressure care aids as directed.
Assist in the collection of specimens and samples.
Assist the Nurse on Duty / Shift Leader in maintaining records and care plans on each shift.
Report any accidents or unexplained injuries immediately to the Nurse on Duty / Shift Leader.
Respond promptly to resident call bells.
Act as chaperon for medical and professional staff as and when required.
Ensure residents are socially presentable in appearance at all times according to their personal requests/choices.
Ensure residents have any aids, e.g. dentures, hearing aids, spectacles, fitted, cleaned and in working order.
Help to maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
Be helpful and polite to residents and visitors at all times.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Ideally have NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
Ideally have experience of working with older people.
A genuine passion for supporting and caring for older people.
Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Team player
Pay attention to detail
Flexible approach to working hours

Please note that any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check as well as two references.

Full and part-time hours, day and night shifts available.

Day shift times are 7:30am to 2pm / 1:30 to 8pm / 7:30am to 8pm

Night shift times are 7:45pm to 8am

The hourly rate is £13:30 for day shifts and £13:50 for night shifts.

You will be required to work weekends on a fortnightly basis.
