Full job description

Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Funeral Groom/Yard Worker. This role involves supporting the funeral drivers by assisting with harnessing up the horses, getting them ready to an exceptionally high standard and keeping all the horses well looked after and mucked out at the stables. There are various tasks related to the preparation and presentation of the horse drawn funerals that we provide. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the stable yard and keeping the horses well looked after
Assist in setting up for funeral services, including loading wagons, bathing and plaiting horses and other necessary items.
Support the team during funerals by providing assistance and attending the horses needs as and when needed
Ensure that all areas are kept tidy and presentable at all times.

Skills

Knowledge around horses is essential
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a respectful environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A compassionate nature and understanding of the sensitive nature of funeral services. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities provide a dignified send off for families during their time of need.
Able to bath and plait horses would be ideal but not essential
Able to work fast and efficiently, think logically and exercise good judgement

Pay: From £100.00 per day
