JOB DESCRIPTION

LUNCHTIME COVER ASSISTANT

Reports to: Nursery Manager

Job Purpose: Working as part of a team giving a constant high level of quality care in line with the National Care Standards and the Nursery’s aims and objectives to all children, parents within our Nursery.

Main Responsibilities:

To work as part of the Team ensuring that the Nursery is running in accordance with the ‘Health and Social Care Standards’, Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland
To assist with the serving of lunch to the children which creates a positive environment for the children in line with “Setting of the Table”
To interact with a positive and social manner towards all children in your care
Supervise and support all children at all times
Ensure the individual children’s needs are met, to include feeding, nappy changing and sleep time
Contribute to the environment to ensure that the rooms are welcoming and attractive
To cover house keeping duties, this will include laundry and general cleanliness of the nursery
Read, understand and implement all nursery policies, procedures and operational practices
Notify the Manager of any concerns or issues regarding to nursery policies
Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors and work colleagues
Ensure confidentiality is maintained where appropriate
