Full job description

Job Title: Care Assistant (Day's)
Location: Briercliffe Lodge

Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing. As a Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued within the home.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming).
Support residents with mobility, including safe transferring and positioning.
Help with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring nutritional intake where required.
Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to engage in social activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with policies and procedures.
Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental health to senior staff.
Promote dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not essential, as training may be provided.
A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record keeping.
Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care (preferred).

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards) is desirable.

Working Hours:

Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

Additional Requirements:

Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
Adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
