Daisy Chain Day Nursery

Job Role: Qualified Nursery Years Practitioner

Reports to: Room Leader and Nursery Manager

Responsible for:

Providing a high standard of learning, development and care for our children, which is based on knowledge of attachment theory and early brain development. Supported by our Nursery Manager and Deputy, our team will provide a family environment that is emotionally and physically safe.

Daisy Chain Day Nursery:

We are an established nursery with an excellent reputation for providing high quality childcare and preschool education in a caring, positive and homely environment. Our aim is to provide our children with the best possible start and provide them with the skills and resilience they will need to prepare them for adult life.

Your role:

Work with babes/children
To act as keyworker for a group of children
To ensure our environments are safe, nurturing and engaging both indoors and out
To meet with our families at pick up times
To provide a high level of awareness of, and be responsive to the emotional needs of our children and their families
Plan fun and stimulating activities for our children so they thrive
Work as part of a team
Prepare lunch and snacks
Undertake team risk assessments
Complete daily online observations, records and paperwork
Be involved in helping new children to help them settle in
Liaise closely with our families, giving daily feedback on activities and exchanging information about progress and next steps

Qualities and characteristics:

Have a positive and nurturing approach to a child’s early years development
Be committed to ensuring that your personal professional development remains up to date by accessing courses and current research on child development
Be an outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic person, able to have fun as part of a team

Essential skills and experience:

MUST hold a minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years Childcare
Have experience working in a nursery
Have a good working knowledge of the EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters, and be able to give examples of this in practice
Have a good working knowledge of safeguarding
Hold a valid DBS
Be able to write observations, and keep up to date records

Salary: up to £28,730, negotiable depending on hours worked, experience and qualifications
