Be there for your community when they need you most! Join Caudwell House as an Assistant Care Manager and shape a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where every child can thrive.

Caudwell House, a children’s disability home ran by Nottinghamshire Council, is looking for an Assistant Care Manager to join our proactive and skilled management team. In this role, you will provide effective support to the Registered Manager, ensuring oversight and management of the delivery of high-quality care for children with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties and/or health needs. You will take on a hands-on management role, balancing operational responsibilities with direct involvement with the children.

This is a busy and rewarding role where your judgement, leadership, and approach will directly influence children’s safety, wellbeing, and quality of life. It is a full-time position and involves working shifts and weekends.

As an Assistant Care Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Registered Manager in developing and implementing the home's philosophy.
Assisting in the development of services for children and their families.
Participating in the review of service effectiveness, quality, and equality.
Providing direct support to staff and children in managing their support needs.
Deputising for the Deputy/Registered Manager in their absence.
Engaging in various managerial tasks within a rewarding yet environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

At least three years’ experience in residential childcare.
A qualification at NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People/Health and Social Care/Diploma) or equivalent, plus one year of post-qualifying experience.
Evidence of regular training experiences and a willingness to undertake a management qualification.
Experience in leadership or management

Strong leadership skills to guide and support staff effectively.
The ability to build positive relationships and safeguard children from harm.

Working Hours and Benefits:

The working hours for this position are varied, including weekends, bank holidays, mornings, and evenings, with participation in the on-call duty system.
