Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educators and students within a dynamic learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, to foster an inclusive and engaging educational experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education, mentoring, and supporting diverse learners. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills in teaching and special education.

Duties

Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans across various subjects, including creative writing and specialised programmes for students with disabilities.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand tasks and stay engaged.
Support students with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by implementing tailored learning strategies.
Help create a positive classroom environment by fostering encouragement, motivation, and behavioural support.
Tutor students in areas such as creative writing, communication skills, and other academic subjects as required.
Mentor pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills through personalised guidance.
Assist with organising classroom activities, materials, and resources to promote an inclusive learning atmosphere.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.

Requirements

Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential.
Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive teaching methods is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pupils, teachers, and parents.
Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging learning materials and activities.
Ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine passion for mentoring young learners and supporting their development.
Relevant qualifications or training in education or special needs support are preferred but not mandatory.
