Gateshead College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer to join our successful A Level department to deliver A Level Law and WJEC Criminology on a 0.75 maternity cover basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving, student-focused team with a strong track record of success and progression.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across A Level Law and WJEC Criminology, supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes and develop a passion for the subject. The role will include:

Planning, delivering and assessing outstanding lessons
Supporting student progress and achievement
Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment activities
Working collaboratively within a successful and supportive A level team
Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has a relevant degree (e.g. Law, Criminology or related subject)
Holds (or is willing to work towards) a recognised teaching qualification
Has experience of teaching A Level Law and/or WJEC Criminology (desirable)
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm
Is passionate about student success and inclusive teaching
Has excellent organisational and communication skills
