Retail & E-commerce Specialist
Leisure World | Brompton on Swale, Richmond, North Yorkshire (DL10 7JB)
Full-time | Permanent
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
This Isn't Just a Retail Job
We're looking for energetic, commercially minded people who thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment and enjoy variety.
At Leisure World, every customer matters — whether they're in store, on the phone, using online chat, browsing one of our websites, collecting a Click & Collect order or looking for help sourcing a spare part.
Our aim is simple:
To provide incredible customer service — knowledgeably, personally, and efficiently.
We also want people who understand that:
Every customer matters. Every sale matters. Every cost matters. Every opportunity matters.
What You'll Be Doing
There really isn't a typical day.
You might be welcoming customers into the store, helping someone find the right product, answering an online chat, preparing a Click & Collect order, sourcing a spare part, merchandising a display, checking competitor pricing, booking in a delivery, photographing a product or picking and packing an online order.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting and greeting customers.
- Helping customers find the right products and acting as a personal shopper where needed.
- Providing knowledgeable support in store, over the telephone, by email and through online chat.
- Preparing and managing Click & Collect orders.
- Merchandising products in store and online.
- Making sure products are presented accurately and attractively across our websites.
- Reviewing competitor websites, pricing and product presentation.
- Helping ensure our prices remain competitive while protecting margin.
- Sourcing spare parts for customers, our online stores and our in-house workshop.
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to identify products, parts, pricing and availability.
- Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries.
- Replenishing and organising stock.
- Picking and packing online orders accurately and efficiently.
- Taking product photographs and creating simple product videos.
- Improving product descriptions, specifications and online content.
- Spotting opportunities to increase sales, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Supporting other areas of the business when required, including The Terrace, our on-site restaurant and hospitality venue.
Customer Experience & Commercial Awareness
We're not looking for aggressive salespeople.
We're looking for people who genuinely enjoy helping customers, solving problems and finding the best solution quickly and efficiently.
At the same time, we want our team to be commercially switched on.
That means taking an interest in daily takings across all revenue streams, spotting genuine sales opportunities, protecting margin and looking for smarter ways to work.
We want people who naturally ask:
Can we sell more?
Can we do this more efficiently?
Are we missing an opportunity?
Retail, Online & Spare Parts
Our store doesn't end at the front door.
Customers may shop with us in person, online, through live chat, over the telephone or through Click & Collect.
You'll help make sure our products are easy to find, competitively priced and presented brilliantly wherever customers see them.
Spare parts are also an important part of the role. You'll help identify and source parts for retail customers, online customers and our own workshop and service facilities.
Sometimes a customer will know exactly what they need. Other times they may only have a photograph, an old component or a problem they need help solving.
We want people who are curious, persistent and enjoy finding the answer.
One Team
Leisure World and The Terrace are both based on our Brompton-on-Swale site.
The Terrace is our contemporary on-site restaurant and hospitality venue, serving freshly prepared breakfasts, brunches, lunches, pizzas, drinks and seasonal specials.
Everyone has a primary role, but we're building a culture where people are happy to support each other and work as one team.
You'll Love This Role If You…
- Love helping people.
- Are friendly, confident and approachable.
- Thrive in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Enjoy variety and multi-tasking.
- Are highly organised and efficient.
- Are commercially aware and interested in business performance.
- Enjoy spotting opportunities to increase sales or reduce costs.
- Are comfortable with computers, websites and technology.
- Like researching, problem-solving and finding solutions.
- Have a good eye for presentation and detail.
- Enjoy learning about products.
- Are comfortable communicating face-to-face, by telephone and online.
- Naturally look for what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked.
- Take pride in doing things properly.
Previous experience in retail, customer service, e-commerce, hospitality, parts or the caravan and motorhome industry is essential.
Attitude, energy, curiosity, efficiency and commercial awareness are just as important to us as previous experience.

This is a genuinely varied role where you'll gain experience across:

The Leisure World Way
Everyone has responsibilities, but nobody should ever think:
"That's not my job."
If a customer needs help, we help them.
If we can make a sale, improve a display, source something better, save money, improve something online or make the customer experience better, we act.
And if a colleague needs support, we ask:
"How can I help?"
That's the kind of team we're building.
How To Apply
A CV tells us where you've worked.
We're equally interested in how you work and how you think.
If you're someone who likes being busy, meeting people, learning new things, solving problems and making things better, we'd love to hear from you.
