We are looking for an experienced registered adult nurse ,to thrive in our community Nursing workforce. Our Community Nursing teams take pride in the positive impact they have on patients' lives every day. You will become an expert clinician in wound care, palliative care, continence care and the care of patients with long term conditions. During your days off, explore nearby Sherwood Forest, the legendary home of Robin Hood, or Immerse yourself in the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of Nottingham City and the many other attractions of Nottinghamshire.

Join us as a Band 5 Staff Nurse, in a position for a 12 month fixed term position. Our service operates from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, offering flexibility in working hours. An additional team of Nurses and HCA’s offer a robust, reactive evening and night Nursing team.

You will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care and will work flexibly supporting the team to deliver high quality integrated care.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable, reliable, resourceful and approachable.

Providing integrated care following a holistic assessment which enables patients to be cared for in their own homes and clinic settings. You will facilitate the prevention of unnecessary hospital admission/re-admission by reducing the effects of ill health and disability and maximising the individual’s potential for independence.

A robust induction and competency-based development package will be provided.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check . Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Aspects of the role include:
To assess, plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe, creative and effective treatment plans in collaboration with the patient’s diverse needs, their carers and other professionals
Deliver interventions that are evidenced based
Be responsible for the safe monitoring, management and administration of medication
Work autonomously, building leadership skills and advanced clinical assessment skills
You will build effective relationships with patients, their carers, family and colleagues across the MDT
You will develop exceptional planning and organisational skills
You will be able to analyse care and treatment provided, and develop sound clinical decision making
You will be trained to deliver high quality care and develop Knowledge in all areas including palliative care, leg ulcer management, acute and chronic wound care, understand bladder and bowel dysfunctions, provide supportive care to carers and family members
You will delegate and support junior staff, building leadership skills

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary / skill level is below the minimum required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
