Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Night Porter/Receptionist to provide exceptional guest services during overnight hours. This role involves ensuring the safety and comfort of guests, managing front desk operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanour, and experience in hospitality settings.This position offers an opportunity to work within a vibrant hospitality team, delivering memorable experiences to our guests.

Duties

Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in/check-out procedures efficiently and courteously
Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person, providing accurate information and assistance
Maintain security protocols during overnight shifts, including monitoring CCTV and conducting regular patrols of the premises
Manage reservations, cancellations, and special requests with attention to detail
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming throughout the shift
Respond promptly to guest needs or concerns, escalating issues when necessary
Process payments accurately using the hotel’s booking system
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and reporting as required
Uphold high standards of phone etiquette and guest service at all times

Qualifications

Previous experience in hotel reception or guest services is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally in person and over the phone
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of hospitality best practices and customer service principles
Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining a professional attitude
Flexibility to work overnight hours on a shift basis; availability for night shifts is essential
