Full job description

A growing technology consultancy is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead new business acquisition across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities, and closing complex commercial deals whilst being rewarded through a highly attractive uncapped commission structure.

Ongar, Essex | Office based | £40,000 basic salary + £50,000 OTE commission (Total OTE £90,000) | Uncapped commission | Healthcare and pension

You will act as the organisation's primary market hunter, responsible for generating new business opportunities and converting prospects into long-term customers. Managing the complete sales cycle, you will engage senior decision-makers, develop new client relationships, and work alongside the Head of Commercial Operations on strategic proposals and public sector tender opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

Identifying and engaging new corporate and enterprise prospects across the UK
Generating opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, social selling, networking and other outbound sales activities
Managing inbound enquiries and ensuring rapid response and conversion of qualified opportunities
Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets
Managing complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles from qualification through to contract execution
Leading commercial discussions, negotiations and closing activities
Supporting the preparation of high-value corporate proposals and public sector tender submissions
Utilising platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo to identify target accounts and opportunities
Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts and sales reporting
Working closely with internal teams to support business growth and customer success objectives

The successful candidate will have:

A minimum of 3-5 years' B2B sales experience within SaaS, professional services, managed services, technology solutions or similar commercial environments
A proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding new business sales targets
Strong experience in cold prospecting, lead generation and outbound business development
Experience managing complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders
Excellent negotiation, objection handling and closing skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage director and executive-level decision-makers
Experience working within a fast-paced SME or growth-focused organisation
Strong CRM, pipeline management and forecasting skills
A high level of organisation, resilience and self-motivation
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
The ability to achieve and maintain industry certifications including Google Cloud Digital Leader, Google Workspace Sales, Microsoft 365 Business Fundamentals, Adobe and Sophos accreditations

£40,000 basic salary
£40,000 commission at 100% target achievement
Total On-Target Earnings of £80,000
