Location: Orpington (Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus discretionary performance-related bonus

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and target-driven Sales Executive to join our growing team. This is a fast-paced, commercially focused position where you will play a key role in driving revenue growth through proactive outbound sales activity, lead conversion, and relationship management.

The successful candidate will be confident engaging with prospective customers over the phone, building rapport quickly, identifying customer needs, and closing sales opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy sales environment and is motivated by achieving and exceeding targets.

Working closely with our Marketing and Field Teams, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and maximising sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound calling and lead follow-up activities.
Convert inbound enquiries and marketing-generated leads into sales opportunities.
Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets, KPIs, and revenue objectives.
Identify customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of opportunities.
Handle objections effectively and negotiate confidently to secure sales.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to maximise retention and identify upselling opportunities.
Collaborate closely with Marketing and Field Teams to improve lead generation and conversion rates.
Accurately maintain CRM records and ensure all customer interactions are documented.
Represent the business at networking events, exhibitions, and industry events when required.

Essential Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in telesales or a phone-based sales role.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong experience in outbound sales, lead generation, and closing deals.
Experience working within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Good IT skills, including experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal communication skills with a professional and persuasive telephone manner.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience within a regulated industry or financial services environment.

A few observations from a recruitment perspective:

The salary is likely to attract candidates with 1–3 years of telesales experience rather than highly experienced Business Development Managers.
If outbound calling is a significant part of the role, consider stating expected call volumes to set clear expectations.
If there is an uncapped commission structure, highlight it prominently as this will significantly increase applicant interest.
The role currently reads as a pure sales position. If account management or customer relationship management forms part of the role, it would be worth emphasising this to broaden the candidate pool.
