Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent leadership skills, and a strong background in kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise, manage kitchen staff, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and inspiring a team of kitchen professionals.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with attention to presentation and quality standards.
Oversee food safety procedures, including hygiene practices and proper storage of ingredients.
Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations.
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistency in food quality.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service during busy periods.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations.
Monitor cooking processes to ensure timely delivery of dishes without compromising quality.

Requirements

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations pertinent to the hospitality industry.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, accountability, and high standards of service.
Experience in menu development, food presentation, and customer service is desirable.
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
