Full job description

Overview

To provide specialist support and well-being interventions to women engaged in the sex working industry and/or have been sexually exploited, taking into account emerging online sectors and migrant workers.

To provide a range of practical and emotional support

To provide women with wrap around support ensuring the right support is provided at the right time, for example health services, housing and/or substance use services.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver a holistic service within a multi-agency partnership that provides specialist support and well-being interventions to women engaged in sex working across all sectors.
Provide a high-quality service, ensuring that all women are regularly assessed for support needs and risk, and that appropriate actions (evidencing empowerment) are put in place.
Assess the practical and emotional support of women, completing individual support plans to meet those needs, in accordance with Thrive DAS policy and funder requirements.
Conduct regular key working sessions (where appropriate), offer support, information and advice to enable women to make informed choices for themselves regarding their housing, relationships, children and safety.
Work with other local specialist agencies who provide support with issues particularly pertinent to street sex workers such as substance misuse, mental health, sexual health to provide the project in a way which meets their specific needs.
Refer women (internally and externally) for specialist support; maintaining collaborative working relationships with all Thrive DAS staff and partners.
Work in partnership with the aim of safeguarding individuals and managing the risks associated with supporting vulnerable marginalised people.
Attend Sex Worker Operational Team (SWOT) MARAC and other partnership meetings as required, ensuring that information is shared appropriately and in line with GDPR procedures.
Keep appropriate records utilising the organisations electronic database in line with Data Protection legislation and Thrive policies.
Support the Senior Support Worker to produce monitoring reports, accurately recording outcome data and case studies.
To participate in the 24-hour, 365/366 day on-call rota in compliance with the lone-working policy.
Attend regular supervision internal and external sessions, team meetings and engage in continuous professional development.

Qualifications

Desirable

ISVA/IDVA Qualification (or equivalent)
Harm Reduction

Essential

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field and/or experience working in domestic abuse support services
Adult and Childre Protection and Safeguarding (provided)
Health and Safety (Provided)
Lone Working (provided)
Data Protection and confidentiality (provided)

Hours: 35 Hours per week

Clinical Supervision provided by external counsellor
Health Insurance after completing probation period
Up to 6% company Pension Contributions
