Full job description

Dealership Accountant

£50000 OTE

We are looking for an experienced, qualified and motivated Dealership Accountant to join our busy Car and Commercial Vehicle Dealership in St Helens.

Main Responsibilities

· Overall responsibility for the accounts and finance requirements of the business.

· Working in close partnership with the Head of Business, other department leaders and company stakeholders.

· Monthly presentation of management accounts to the Board.

· Weekly cash flow forecast and bank reconciliation.

· Accruals and prepayments.

· Maintenance of fixed asset register and depreciation calculations.

· Monthly salaries, including calculation of overtime and pension scheme.

· Monthly stock control and reconciliation.

· Monthly Debtors reviews and reconciliation.

· Maintenance of the Nominal Ledger, including reconciliations.

· Quarterly VAT.

· Production of year end accounts.

· Liaising with Auditors.

· Budgeting and forecasting.

· Occasional cover of purchase ledger duties including monthly payment run.

· Any other duties that may be necessary to support your colleagues and the business.

The Ideal Candidate

· Extensive Motor Dealer management accounts experience, preferably with commercial vehicles.

· Leadership qualities and desire to actively engage with the culture, growth strategy and continuous improvement ethos of the team and business.

· Strong working knowledge of DMS such as Kerridge/ Pinnacle / Dragon

· Previous Experience of Sage Line 50.

· Ability to make accounting software work to improve efficiencies.

· Forecasting and budgeting and analytical skills with elevated levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Confidence to present and interpret management accounts information to the board.

· Previous experience with organising and submitting monthly Payroll.

· Confidence to make decisions and to use own judgement when required.

· Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise your own workload to achieve targets and deadlines.

· Computer Literate

· Able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

· Friendly, courteous and approachable manner.

· Hardworking and dependable
