Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Montessori Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing, stimulating, and educational environment for young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education and childcare, who are eager to contribute to the development of young learners within a Montessori setting. The position is paid and suitable for those who possess strong management, leadership, and communication skills, with experience working with children.

Duties

Implement Montessori educational programmes tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 2-6 years.
Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records to inform future planning.
Support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive guidance and interaction.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that promote holistic development including cognitive, physical, and social skills.
Assist with organising daily routines such as meal times, rest periods, and outdoor play.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Manage classroom resources efficiently and ensure the environment remains clean, organised, and conducive to learning.
Demonstrate leadership by guiding junior staff or trainees when required, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.

Skills

Proven experience working with children within early childhood education or nursery settings.
Strong management and organisational skills to oversee classroom activities effectively.
Leadership qualities capable of motivating team members and supporting their professional development.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise confidently with colleagues and families.
Knowledge of Montessori teaching principles and methods is highly desirable.
Childcare qualifications or nursery experience that meet regulatory standards are essential.
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting resources or attending off-site activities.
