Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in financial management and accounting software to contribute to organisational success. The ideal applicant will possess a solid understanding of financial services, accounts payable, and financial accounting processes, along with mentoring skills to support junior team members.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records using various accounting software including ClearBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff or interns as needed
Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth financial operations
Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement

Skills

Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a professional setting
Proficiency in accounting software such as ClearBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective mentoring abilities to support team development
Knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work undertaken
Good communication skills to liaise effectively across departments and with external stakeholders

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment while supporting organisational growth through sound financial management.

Pay: £55,000.00 per year
