Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week) applications for flexible working arrangements will be considered.
Location: Aberdeen and Inverness with hybrid working arrangements in place. The successful candidates will be expected to attend their designated office location on agreed days and travel throughout the North Region as required.

About the Role

The Scottish Ambulance Service is seeking two highly motivated and experienced Business Support Managers to join our North Region Management Team. One post will be based in Aberdeen and one post in Inverness.

These are exciting opportunities to play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable ambulance services across the North of Scotland. Working closely with Heads of Service, operational managers and corporate departments, the Business Support Manager provides the business infrastructure, governance support, information management and administrative leadership necessary to support frontline service delivery and organisational priorities.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. The successful candidates will contribute significantly to workforce planning, service improvement, performance management, governance arrangements and the achievement of regional and national objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Support Manager will:

Provide business management support to the North Region Management Team.
Lead and coordinate workforce planning, establishment management and recruitment activity.
Support regional governance, risk management and assurance processes.
Analyse and interpret performance data, producing reports and recommendations to support decision-making.
Coordinate service improvement initiatives and projects across the region.
Manage and develop administrative and business support functions.
Support financial monitoring, budget management and resource planning activities.
Act as a key liaison between operational services and corporate departments including HR, Finance, Workforce Planning and Organisational Development.
Prepare reports, business cases, briefing papers and presentations for senior management.
Contribute to the delivery of regional and national strategic priorities.

About You

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

Experience in a business management, operational support or service improvement role.
Strong organisational, planning and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Experience of analysing data and translating information into meaningful management reports.
Knowledge of governance, performance management and workforce planning processes.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
A proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Excellent IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Experience within the NHS, public sector or a complex operational environment would be advantageous.
