Full job description

Gates Estates are an established Estate Agents based in South Yorkshire offering Sales, Lettings & management to our clients. Due to staff progression we are now looking to hire a Lettings Negotiator to work within a fast paced office, carrying out a variety of tasks and requirements both internally and externally to the office.

The job role:

Carrying out accompanied viewings primarily at properties to Rent and also properties For Sale.

Carrying out inspections at properties managed by the company, using app based technology to compile reports.

Speaking to Landlords and the Maintenance manager regarding maintenance issues found at inspections.

Carrying out inventories of properties prior to Tenant move in's and using app based technology to have them ready for Tenants.

Notifying all utility companies of meter readings taken and registering tenants.

Carrying out referencing and checks on prospective tenants

We require:

An organised and motivated individual to bring their personality to a challenging role as part of a small team running a 250+ property portfolio situated in Barnsley and the surrounding areas.

Prior experience in the property industry preferred and ideally in Lettings or an Estate Agent environment, but not essential as training will be offered.

The successful candidate must be able to work within a small Lettings team under direction from the Lettings and/or Office Manager but still use his or her initiative.

The candidate must be able to drive and have been driving for over 2 years.

The candidate must build and maintain good relationships with Tenants, Landlords and contractors.

The use of online databases and software/ apps is necessary along with excellent use of MS Word and Adobe.

Good literacy and a pleasant phone manner are expected.

Training and progression within the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
