Job Overview

We are a restaurant serves Taiwanese and East Asian cuisine. Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of the kitchen environment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and support for chefs and kitchen staff. Your proactive approach will help maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, enabling the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable hospitality and kitchen experience in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and equipment, adhering to health and safety standards
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently to ensure they are ready for use
Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, such as peeling vegetables or organizing ingredients
Support the storage and rotation of supplies to prevent spoilage and ensure freshness
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Restock supplies in the kitchen and service areas as needed to support smooth operations
Follow all hygiene protocols and safety procedures to uphold a clean and safe working environment

Skills

Experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Strong understanding of restaurant or hospitality operations enhances your ability to support the team effectively
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items, standing for extended periods, and bending frequently
Good communication skills to coordinate with chefs and fellow staff members
Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards and safety guidelines
Enthusiastic attitude with a proactive approach to supporting culinary operations
Previous experience in hotel or restaurant settings is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
