Job Summary

Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant, where your energy and enthusiasm will help keep our culinary operations running smoothly! In this vital role, you will support the kitchen by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient food preparation processes. Your dedication will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for both staff and guests, supporting the overall success of our hospitality services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced culinary setting while developing essential skills in food handling, kitchen operations, and hospitality.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient replenishment and stock organization to ensure smooth workflow.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to maintain a tidy workspace.
Help with setting up dining areas and serving stations during busy service times to enhance guest experience.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper handling of food and cleaning chemicals.
Support the overall cleanliness and organization of storage areas, ensuring all items are stored correctly.

Experience

Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
Familiarity with basic food preparation techniques such as chopping or cleaning ingredients is advantageous.
Experience in a hotel or catering setting can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling is a plus.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude with a proactive approach to supporting kitchen operations.
