Overview

Embark on an exciting journey as a Hairdressing Apprentice, where you will develop essential skills and gain hands-on experience in a vibrant, professional salon environment. This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the art of hairdressing while working alongside talented stylists.

You will assist with client consultations, support styling and grooming services, and grow your expertise in a range of core hairdressing techniques. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will receive structured training, mentoring, and real salon experience to help you build confidence and progress towards becoming a qualified stylist.

You must be willing to travel to Feltham once a week for your apprenticeship hairdressing training.

If you’re passionate about hair, eager to learn, and ready to kick-start your career in hairdressing, this role is perfect for you.

Responsibilities

Assist senior stylists with client consultations, preparation, and service delivery.
Support with shampooing, conditioning, scalp treatments, and ensuring client comfort throughout appointments.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic salon environment, including tools, equipment, and workstations.
Learn and perform basic haircutting, blow-drying, styling, and finishing techniques under supervision.
Welcome clients at the front desk, schedule appointments, manage bookings, and provide excellent customer service.
Promote additional salon services through professional upselling to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue.
Observe experienced stylists and actively participate in training sessions, assessments, and practical workshops.
Follow salon policies, health and safety procedures, and professional standards at all times.

Skills & Qualities

Strong communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members.
Enthusiasm for learning new hairdressing techniques and industry trends.
Friendly, professional attitude with a strong customer service orientation.
Basic understanding of salon operations, including stock management, reception duties, and workflow organisation.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn from experienced professionals and take constructive feedback.
Interest in hairdressing, barbering, colouring techniques, and client care.
Creativity, attention to detail, and pride in delivering high-quality grooming services.
Reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic.
