Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and maintaining excellent customer service throughout the shift. The Shift Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive working atmosphere.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate team members during shifts, including front-of-house and kitchen staff.
Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
Manage daily restaurant or hospitality operations, including service delivery, cleanliness, and organisation.
Assist with food production, cooking, and serving as needed to support team efficiency.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment of ingredients and supplies.
Enforce health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols.
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Train new staff members on company procedures, standards, and customer service expectations.
Maintain a positive team environment through effective leadership and motivation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation relating to hospitality operations.

Skills

Proven experience in supervising within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Excellent team management and leadership abilities.
Good organisational skills with the capacity to multitask efficiently during busy periods.
Experience in food production, serving, or kitchen operations is highly desirable.
Familiarity with restaurant or hotel environments enhances effectiveness in this role.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining high service standards.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers alike.
Knowledge of health regulations related to food safety is essential.
