Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, food preparation, and the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and passionate about food safety and customer service.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly to ensure timely service
Basic cooking tasks and ingredient handling
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
Organise ingredients and supplies to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
Help with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required
Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent contamination or spoilage
Support serving staff during meal service periods when necessary
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards
Occasional ordering (Training and support given)

Skills

Experience or interest in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Ability to assist with meal and food preparation efficiently
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks within a busy kitchen setting
Previous kitchen experience is advantageous
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different roles within the kitchen environment

Hours

Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm and every second Saturday 8am to 4pm

Pay: £12.71 per hour
