About the Role

Gogo Inbox Community and Resource Services is looking for an organised, approachable and community-focused Community Services Officer to support the delivery of local programmes, public information, outreach activities and community resources.

The successful candidate will work with residents, community groups, volunteers, partner organisations and internal programme teams to help people access appropriate services and participate in community initiatives.

This role is suitable for someone with experience in community services, public-facing support, programme coordination, voluntary organisations or local service delivery who enjoys working directly with people and helping programmes run effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Community Support: Provide practical information and guidance to individuals seeking access to community services and local resources.

Service Enquiries: Respond to enquiries by telephone, email and in person and direct individuals to appropriate services.

Programme Coordination: Support the organisation and delivery of community programmes, workshops and local activities.

Participant Registration: Coordinate registrations and maintain accurate participant information for community programmes.

Community Outreach: Support outreach activities designed to increase awareness of available services.

Local Engagement: Build positive relationships with residents, community groups and local organisations.

Referral Support: Help individuals identify suitable support services and coordinate appropriate referrals.

Service Information: Maintain current information about community programmes, local resources and partner organisations.

Appointment Coordination: Schedule appointments, programme sessions and follow-up meetings where required.

Participant Follow-Up: Contact programme participants regarding upcoming activities, documentation or support requirements.

Community Events: Assist with planning and delivering community events, information sessions and public activities.

Workshop Support: Coordinate practical arrangements for workshops and group sessions.

Venue Coordination: Arrange rooms, equipment, materials and accessibility requirements for community activities.

Partner Liaison: Communicate with charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and public-service partners.

Volunteer Support: Assist with volunteer coordination, schedules and programme responsibilities.

Volunteer Records: Maintain accurate information relating to volunteer participation and availability.

Resource Coordination: Monitor community programme materials and arrange additional resources where required.

Information Materials: Prepare and update information packs, notices and guidance materials.

Programme Records: Maintain accurate attendance, activity and service-delivery records.

Database Management: Update client, participant and community-contact information within relevant systems.

Confidentiality: Handle personal and sensitive information responsibly.

Case Notes: Maintain clear notes regarding enquiries, referrals and relevant follow-up activity.

Service Monitoring: Track programme participation and community-service activity.

Reporting: Prepare routine reports showing programme attendance, enquiries and service outcomes.

Feedback Collection: Gather participant and community feedback regarding services and activities.

Service Improvement: Identify recurring requests, gaps or barriers and communicate them to programme teams.

Accessibility: Support inclusive access to services and community activities.

Community Needs: Help identify emerging needs or concerns raised by local residents.

Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear updates to internal colleagues and partner organisations.

Community Partnerships: Support development of relationships with organisations that can strengthen local services.

Public Information: Help ensure service information provided to the public is clear and accurate.

Programme Promotion: Support promotion of upcoming programmes and community activities.

Digital Communication: Assist with email updates, online information and community communication channels.

Administration: Complete routine administrative tasks connected with service delivery.

Document Preparation: Prepare meeting notes, programme information and supporting documents.

Meeting Support: Participate in programme and community-service meetings.

Action Tracking: Maintain records of actions and follow up on agreed tasks.

Safeguarding Awareness: Recognise potential safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate reporting procedures.

Health and Safety: Follow relevant health and safety procedures during programmes and community events.

Conflict Resolution: Respond professionally to routine concerns or service complaints.

Service Standards: Maintain a helpful, respectful and consistent approach when dealing with community members.

Resource Awareness: Stay familiar with relevant local services and support options.

Team Support: Assist colleagues during busy programme periods.

Community Visits: Attend community and partner locations when required.

Data Quality: Review participant and programme records for completeness and accuracy.

Outcome Monitoring: Support tracking of programme outputs and participation outcomes.

Process Improvement: Suggest practical improvements to community-service processes.

Continuous Development: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of programmes, information and community engagement.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Previous experience in community services, public services, charities, voluntary organisations, customer support, social programmes or a related environment.

Community Awareness: Good understanding of the importance of accessible and inclusive local services.

Public-Facing Skills: Confidence communicating with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Service Coordination: Ability to organise appointments, activities and programme information effectively.
