Overview

Non Slip Shop is looking for practical Workshop Operatives to join our growing manufacturing team in Halesfield, Telford.

This is a full-time, permanent role involving the preparation, manufacture, cutting, finishing of GRP (fibreglass) flooring and building materials to required specifications and sizes.

This is a varied, hands-on workshop role. You will be working with physical materials, basic tools, measurements, job sheets, and production paperwork as part of a small manufacturing team.

Previous GRP experience is not required, as full training will be provided. However, this position would particularly suit someone with practical hands-on experience in manufacturing, fabrication, joinery, construction, plastics, composites, or a similar workshop-based environment.

This is not a warehouse picking or packing role. We are looking for someone practical, dependable, accurate, and willing to learn a skilled manufacturing process.

The role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in making and finishing products properly, and works well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, cutting, producing, and finishing GRP building materials to required sizes and specifications
Using basic hand tools, machinery, and production equipment safely
Measuring materials accurately and following drawings, job sheets, and production paperwork
Preparing finished products and checking they meet order requirements
Handling, lifting, and moving large GRP materials safely
Keeping the workshop and production areas clean, organised, and safe
Working as part of a small team to complete jobs accurately and efficiently
Assisting with general workshop, production, and material handling duties
Following company procedures and health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, joinery, construction, plastics, composites, or a similar hands-on role would be highly beneficial
Practical and confident using basic hand tools, machinery, or workshop equipment
Able to measure accurately and follow drawings, job sheets, and production paperwork
Comfortable working with physical materials and producing items to required sizes and specifications
Good attention to detail and able to check work against order requirements
Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and willing to learn
Able to work at a steady pace while maintaining accuracy
Able to work well as part of a small team in a workshop environment
Comfortable with manual handling, physical work, and being on your feet during the working day
Willing to work across different areas of production as required
Forklift experience or a forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential

About the Role
